This is the so-called “Water Snake” jacket from the Hermès Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Crafted from lightweight cotton, the piece is adorned with an all-over graphic that evokes the flow of water and the sinuous movement of a snake, merging the house’s craftsmanship with an artistic sensibility. The abstract motifs in shades of blue and gray recall the shimmering reflections on a water’s surface and the fluid motion of a serpent, conveying a sense of vitality quietly dwelling beneath tranquility.
