The 3L Scout Poncho is our storm-day shell. It's cut oversized so it goes straight over your jacket, and the fixed hood fits over a helmet with a visor to keep snow off your goggles. Good on the hill, good for wet commutes, good at camp.

It's a 3-layer snowboard jacket in poncho form. A 20,000mm waterproof membrane sits between the face fabric and the backer, the seams are taped on the inside, and a Bio DWR finish makes water bead up and roll off. That rates it Stormy days, 3 of 3, on our weather scale. There's no insulation, so it reads Warmer days, 1 of 3, on our warmth scale.
