Breathe into it and watch it change. The Hyper Hole Airtube is made in a heat activated colour change fabric, so it changes colour where it warms up, like where your breath hits it, then fades back as it cools. On Camo, the sage ground turns lime green.

How it works: the colour change comes from thermochromic pigment, the same science behind the colour-change T-shirts of 1991. It sits in microscopic capsules, each holding a dye, a colour developer and a wax. While the wax is solid, the dye and developer stay together and show their colour. Warm breath melts the wax and the dye turns clear, so the sage ground turns lime green and the dark camo spots stay as they are. As it cools, the wax sets again and the sage comes back.

The Airtube is our neck gaiter, or neck warmer, for snowboarding and skiing. The Ergo shape is pre-curved to your face, so it seals out wind and stays put with no seam across the nose, even under a helmet and goggles.

Pull it up and the laser micro-airholes, cut in the Airhole arch-and-diamond, let your breath out instead of up into your goggles, so your lenses stay clearer. The fabric wicks moisture and dries fast. On our warmth scale Hyper Hole is an Everyday fabric, for roughly 0 to −10°C, the same as Drytech.
