It would be a fair argument that Blue Wing Olives are the most important mayfly in the country.  Encompassing many different species they hatch almost from ice out to ice in on most trout waters.  I wanted a BWO emerger that laid in the film, floated well, and remained visible.  Hackle and CDC mixed checked those boxes and tying the fly slightly shorter it on a curved short shank hook allowed me to imitate smaller BWOs with a larger hook.
